Childrens’ Society Carols

Schools Carol Singing in the Market Place
Wednesday 7th December 2016

The annual event, organised by The Pontefract & District Appeals Committee of The Children’s Society, has been taking place in the first week of December for the last 24 years and has been attended by up to 10 local schools each year. During this time the event has raised over £14,500 to help the Society’s work with some of the country’s most vulnerable children and their families.

The Appeals Committee realise that schools are all very busy with their own Christmas arrangements at this time of year and very much appreciate all the help that is given by our schools so willingly to the Society’s work. This year £573 was raised in the town centre during the Wednesday Market.
